Interview in German press: The Handelsblatt
Wonderful interview of our German speaking Director of Administration and Finance, Guido Houben, by Klaus Stratmann in the Handelsblatt. Transmutation will certainly bring a new approach to deep geological storage in every nuclear or post-nuclear nation: bury energy-rich "waste" for hundreds of thousands of years, or try to extract the carbon-free energy for that material and bury the "ashes" for less than 500 years ?
We will still need deep geological storage but we can use that precious real estate for much, much longer, or make it smaller. At least the debate will be positive for carbon-free energy and our civilization. Technological innovation is the only true solution to the energy transition.
